Allen Lloyd Markley

Allen Lloyd Markley 79, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Auburn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a short illness.  He was born November 26, 1937 in Moravia, NY, a son to the late Paul Markley and Nellie White (Markley) Ames.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Lawrence Ames, his son Allen D. Markley, step-daughter Nancy Markley, grandson Trevor Zuraf and sister Patricia Stoker.  Left to cherish his memory are his brother Paul (Diane) Markley, sisters Mary Ellen Miller and Joan (Rick) Clark, brother-in-law Claude Stoker, sons James Markley of LaCanada, CA and William Paul Markley of Moorpark, CA, daughters Susan English (Paul) of Auburn, NY, Karen Allison (Kelly) of LaCanada, CA, and Tia Zuraf (Kevin) of Cornelius, NC, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Allen enjoyed socializing with family and friends, shooting pool, fast cars, and his children and grandchildren.  He spent many years as a machinist at Alco and Goulds Pumps, among others.  

Visitation will be held from 3PM to 5PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn.  A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm.
