Dr. Richard A. Hamilton, 93, passed away on Monday September 5, 2016. He was the son of the late John and Margret Purves Hamilton. He served in the US Navy during WWII in Corpus Christi, TX.  After discharge from the navy he went to Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, IN to earn his degree.  Richard ran a chiropractic office in Auburn for many years before retiring in 2005. He also owned Reedco Research where he was developing different instruments to measure range of motion for use by chiropractors and those in the sports medicine field. 

Richard was very active in helping found the Cayugan Band, and he played in another band of his called the Capricians. He played the Saxophone and clarinet. He loved sailing on the Cayuga, and Owasco Lakes. He also enjoyed being apart of the Auburn Rotary Club and to serve at the Auburn Salvation Army.  He will be remembered for sharing and standing for his Christian faith.

He is survived by

Daughter:        Ruth Herrier-Jump and her husband Alan of Salinas, CA

Grandson:       Jason Herrier and his wife Kristi of Fairfield, CA

Sister:              Connie McLean and he husband Robert of Santa Rosa, CA

Cousin:            Beverly Puentes and her husband Hernan of Potomac, MD

In addition to his parents Dr. Hamilton was predeceased by his wife Jean Hamilton on December 19, 2005.

A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday September 12, 2016 at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn. Burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery.
