Helen McLeod

Helen McLeod 82 of Syracuse New York passed away Saturday August 20th 2016 at Crouse Irving surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Lucille Point Hamilton. Helen work at Syracuse Developmental Center as a therapy Aid. She loved her job where as she provided a home for Anna Waldron a resident for 20 years. Helen was an active member of the people AME Zion Church for many years and was a member of the NAACP.  She was also a foster grandparent for many children over the years.  She was predeceased by her husband Donald McLeod Sr.  3 brothers Norman Isaac Jr and Jacob Hamilton and one sister Myrtle Moultrie she is survived by her children Catherine Candidate of Sacramento California, Celestine McLeod and Channie Peet of Syracuse  two sons Donald McLeod JR (Juanita) of San Antonio Texas and Jermain Harvey of Syracuse, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews

Calling hours will be Thursday August 25th 2016 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Thompson memorial AME Zion Church 90 Franklin Street Auburn New York with service to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery.
