Ruth M. Calkins

Ruth M. Calkins, 72, of Auburn, gone to be with the Lord on September 30, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She is the daughter of the late Melvin and Nellie Sherman Allen. Ruth worked for Crosible Filtration Inc. for over twenty years as a factory worked on the assembly. Ruth was a strong loving woman who fought 20 years with cancer. She cherished every moment she spent with her grand and great grandchildren.  

She is survived by,

Sons:                     John Calkins of Moravia

                                Jeffery Calkins of Auburn

Daughters:          Darlene Garrison and her husband Tom of Aurora

                                Lisa Calkins of Auburn

                                Debbie Calkins Winter of Auburn

                                Lori Knapp and her husband David “Butch” of Brookwood, AL

Brother:               Melvin Allen and his wife Rose of Auburn

13 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews

In addition to her parents, Ruth is predeceased by her sisters Jean Whitter, and Linda Chase, and brother Robert Allen.  

Ruth’s request is services to be private for the family. Shakelton Funeral Home, Auburn is in charge of the arrangements.
