Joseph Henry Jackson Obituary

Judith E. Jackson of Aurora NY would like to share the sad news of the passing of her beloved son, Joseph Henry Jackson. (56) January 3, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Joe is a graduate of Southern Cayuga High School where he was a strong swimmer and soccer player.  He graduated from Albany Junior College with a degree in Fine Arts and Photography. He then chose to make San Francisco, California his home away from home. Joe worked for the Blue Light Restaurant on Union Street where he was surrounded by some of the kindest friends imaginable.

Joe is predeceased by his Grandmother Louise Mae Jackson and had a special bond with his Grandfather Henry David Jackson. Joe was blessed with fifteen wonderful years growing up next door to Grandpa Jackson on Dog Corner Road in Aurora. Joe is also predeceased by Helen Jackson Kuhlmann, Robert Henry Jackson, Charles William Jackson, Topper Jackson, Ida Rose Jackson Monks (Lou), Dickie Joe Jackson, Christopher Monks, Terry Monks Stevens.

Joe is survived by his loving Mother Judith E. Jackson, his loving Aunt, Lola J. Knowles, and his golf partner Uncle, Louis Raymond Jackson (Darlene). He was a caring, loving, respectful son to his Mother and more of a brother than a cousin to the many of us that make up the Jackson Family Tree. He will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know his kind spirit, his humble respectful nature and his fun loving personality. Joe loved photography and golf and fishing with friends and cousins Troy and Steve Monks.

Judy would like to acknowledge and thank many people for the love and support she has received during this difficult time especially her niece Martha Foley and a special thank you to "Joe's Team" in San Francisco from the Miami Dolphins Pod to the SU Crew and to the Action Jackson Trivia Team, your generous support in his time of need will stay with the Jackson and Monks families forever. Thank you for organizing lodging, transportation and meals for us. All of your hugs, handshakes, smiles and stories about Joe showed us small town love within your big beautiful city. Joe has family on both the East and West Coast. To quote Joe," I love America!" Cheers to each and every one of you with a bud and a black berry brandy.

If a man’s wealth is measured in friendships our Joe is a millionaire. To know him is to love him. Family and friends are welcome to a casual gathering Sunday February 4, 2024. 2pm to 4pm at the United Ministry of Aurora. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food bank in Joe's memory
