Richard E. Redmond, age 97, of Black Street, Scipio Center
Mr. Redmond was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John R. and Mary Keenan Redmond and has resided in the town of Scipio since 1958. He grew up in Brooklyn and Long Island, and later lived in Greene, NY.
Mr. Redmond was a graduate of Chaminade High School, Class of 1945, Mineola, NY. He attended St. Francis College and Holy Cross College, and graduated from Cornell University in 1952.
Mr. Redmond was a lifelong owner and operator of a dairy farm. He served as President of the Cayuga County Farm Bureau, and as a Director and President of the Dairylea Cooperative. He served as chair of the U.S. Technical Advisory Committee on Dairy International Trade and as chair of the Dairy Advisory Council.
In addition, Mr. Redmond served as Director of the National Council of Farm Co-ops and a Director of the National Milk Producers Association.
In recent years, he was a member of the Bored-to-Death Gang, a social organization with no medals, no officers and no speakers, and also served on the Republican Committee of Scipio Center.
Mr. Redmond was a graduate of the Toastmasters Program, past President of the Finger Lakes Catholic Charities, and a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Community.

There are no scheduled calling hours.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in King Ferry, Thursday Noon, April 25th, with an informal luncheon buffet to follow at Dugan s Country Grill.
Interment will be at St. Joseph s Cemetery in Oxford, NY at a later date.
