Charles F. "Butch" Reynolds Obituary

Charles F. “Butch” Reynolds, 74, of King Ferry, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2018 at Auburn Community Hospital. Butch was born in Auburn and resided in the family homestead all his life. He was the son of the late Horace C. and Fannie Smith Reynolds. He graduated from Sherwood Central School in 1961 and continued his higher education at Auburn Community College and Cornell University. Butch later took over the family farm.

He was a member of the Poplar Ridge Instant Aid for many years. This is where “the best thing that ever happened to him” occurred. He met the love of his life Roxzann. They married in July of 1973 in the Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting House, operated the dairy farm and raised 4 children. He had much love and pride for farming. Butch built strong bonds with the community through his involvement in the Poplar Ridge Fire Department, Farm Bureau, Poplar Ridge Instant Aide, and the King Ferry Bowling League.

He had a love of solitaire, classic cars, dirt racing and any sport that was on TV. He retired in 2007 but continued to hobby farm. His love for his family and pets was well known. He and Roxzann bought their winter home in Bradenton, FL where they made great friends and became world travelers.

In loving memory of the most selfless man, a man of integrity and great compassion. We will miss you.

He is survived by the love of his life Roxzann Grant Reynolds
