Cheryl E. Wyllie

Cheryl Eileen Wyllie passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Cheryl was born on February 28, 1952 in Auburn, New York, the 4th of 5 daughters born to Albert and Joan Powers Wyllie.  She is survived by three sisters, Marilyn A. Wyllie, Jean M. Alexander, and Sandra (Richard) Riccio.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her sister, Barbara J. Cico, her brothers-in-law, John Cico and David Alexander, her niece, Michelle Mastropietro and her nephew, Mark Carnicelli.

She was the beloved aunt to 12 nieces and nephews and the great-aunt to 18 great nieces and nephews, who were a source of endless joy to her.

Cheryl was an animal lover and she particularly loved her two cats, Max and Jessie. There was always another story about what these two could get into. 

Cheryl was a 1970 graduate of Central High School.  She was employed at Cerner Corporation most of her work life as a Medical Software Account Executive and her job relocated her several times throughout her career. This afforded her the opportunity to make many very special and lasting friendships across the Country.

Cheryl loved to travel and was always up for another trip to a warmer climate.  She was a free spirit and had a fun-loving personality who could easily make friends wherever she would go.

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Clark Street, Auburn, New York.

Those who wish to remember Cheryl in a special way may make contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Humane Society.
