E. Virginia Hedger

Mrs. E. Virginia (Ginny) Hedger, 96, of Auburn went home to be with Jesus, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at The Commons. She was the daughter of the late Percy & Grace Starbird. Ginny was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, but grew up in Lisbon Falls, Maine. She met her husband, Jim in Nanuet, New York where she was living with her brother while she worked at Lederle Laboratories. Jim was living with his brother and attending what today is Nyack College.  

Ginny and Jim were married on August 26, 1947 and celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this year.  They had two children – son Tim (Cheryl) Hedger of Canandaigua, New York and daughter Sue (John) Richwine of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ginny was predeceased by her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her husband, son, daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 14th at 7:00 p.m. at Auburn Alliance Church, 630 N. Seward Avenue, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials (in care of the Auburn Alliance Church) to a fund to send young people to Delta Lake summer camp.
