Marilyn M. Fandrich Obituary

Marilyn M. Fandrich, 87, formerly of 8 Boyle Ave, Auburn, died peacefully July 28, 2018, at The Commons on St Anthony.

Marilyn was born in Auburn on April 28, 1931, the only child of Harold and Marion (King) McEntee. She graduated from East High School and Auburn Business School, and worked several years at Firth Carpet. Marilyn married Victor W Fandrich in 1953, and together they raised four children while working side by side at The Jacobs Press, the family business. Marilyn was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a scout leader. In later years, she became a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Women’s Republican Club, and a volunteer at Auburn Hospital.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling with Vic around the country and the world, and spending time with her family, especially at their summer cottage on Cayuga Lake.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 64 years Victor W Fandrich; children Honorable Mark (Jill) Fandrich of Auburn, Molly (Michael) Trapani of Auburn, Scott (Karen) Fandrich of Jacksonville FL, and Beth (James) Trapani of Fairport NY; nine grandchildren Sarah Trapani, Elizabeth (David) Verdi, Catherine (Stephen) Wolfe, Margaret (Justin) Rosen, Victor M Fandrich, Michael Fandrich, Jason Fandrich, Megan Trapani, and Nicholas Trapani; four great-grandchildren Emma, Mia, Calvin, and Elliott; and many wonderful friends, including her lifelong friend Dorothy Noble.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.  Contributions can be made to the Seymour Library, 176-178 Genesee St, Auburn, NY 13021 in Marilyn’s memory in celebration of her love of reading.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the 6th floor of The Commons for their patient and loving care these final months.
