Mina W. Salvage

Mina W. Salvage, 96, of Auburn went home to be Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2018 at the Commons. She was the daughter of the late William and Alice Weaver Walter. Mina worked during WWII at the Seneca Army Deport in Romulus as a Senior Clerk Typist for Col. “Snuffy” Smith before meeting her future husband Louis Salvage. Louis and Mina married on March 9, 1946 and settled on a Union Springs farm. Mina worked for The Creamery in Union Springs quality-testing the milk. She later worked for A. J. Smith Elementary as a custodian for many years and was also a Deputy Town Clerk for Springport. Mina was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and of The Daughters of Rebekah. She loved canning in the summer months. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Union Springs for many years teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir and sharing her faith in Christ. Mina vividly recalled throughout her life her conversion to Jesus Christ, when she accepted Him by faith as young girl.  

She is survived by;

                Alan Lloyd Salvage and his wife Frances of Auburn

1 Daughter:        Annette Lu Salvage-Bent of Oxford, MA

Brother:               David Walter

2 Sisters:              Alice Smith

                                Wilma Gallow

Grandchildren:  Megan Salvage, Adriana Bent, Colin Bent, Robert Morris and his wife Roselle, Jodiene Morris-Spears, David Morris and his wife Theresa.

Mina was predeceased by her parents, husband Louis J. Salvage on August 13, 2010, 7 sisters and 5 brothers.

Visitation will be from 4PM to 7PM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn. A funeral service will be at 11AM on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Auburn United Methodist Church, 99 South Street, Auburn. Burial will be at Fleming Rural Cemetery, Fleming.
