Alice L. Smart

Alice L. Smart, 70 of Owasco, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Auburn Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Myrtle Cole Atwater. Alice was the matriarch of the family and enjoyed sharing her political views. Alice loved all her family but especially the grand and great grandchildren so spending as much time with them was an understatement. Alice would always put others’ needs before her own.

She is survived by,

                            MaryEllen Heath and her husband Greg

7 Grandchildren: Amanda Brown and her husband Randy, Phillip Holtby, Tori Trufant, Jason Holtby Jr., Jenna Smart, Cassie Young and Alexandria Ellis

Great Grandchild:   Jaxson Brown

Sister:   Susan Wells and her husband James

Sister-in-law:     Christine Atwater and Rita Atwater

In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband James Smart, son James Smart, son-in-law Jason Holtby Sr, two sisters Donna Chantler, Kathy Mullen, and 2 brothers Carl Atwater and Bud Atwater.

Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM on Thursday, August 8 ,2024 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn with service to follow at 1PM. Burial will be at Soule Cemetery, Town of Sennett.
