Betty J. Alcock

Betty J. Alcock, 100, of Throop, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Auburn Community Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1924 in Holland, NY to the late Gordon and Doris Behm Lewis. She earned her nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, NY in 1946. Betty worked as a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital before moving over to the Auburn Memorial Hospital until 1987 when she retired. Betty also worked in the office for Kimberly Quality Care part time. Betty was an avid reader, knitter, enjoyed the sunshine and she loved traveling with her husband in their RV. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband George Alcock, son Jimmy Alcock, son-in-law Ronald Smith, grandchildren Christopher and Andrea Didominick.

There will be visitation from 2PM to 4PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street with a service to follow at 4PM. Burial will be in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery in Throop.
