Chris James Armstrong

Chris James Armstrong,77, of Auburn, passed away on June 9, 2025.  Chris was born in Utica, NY on October 11, 1947 to the late parents James and Anita Armstrong.  He is survived by his brother, Gary Armstrong (Kathie, deceased), his sister Lauren Armstrong Shepland (Andy) and his niece, Sarah Armstrong Graveline (Corey).  He was the proud father of Jennifer (Kurt) and grandfather to Benjamin (20) and Violet (17).  

Chris was a beloved member of the Auburn community where he was a middle school math teacher for many years in the Auburn City School District.  He was an active member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, where he served as a mentor and role model for many young men in the area.  Chris could frequently be found seated at the organ of Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church in Auburn, sharing music and fellowship with his family there.  He was a nature lover and could most often be found in the back yard or greenhouses, tending to his plants, and being followed by his adoring cats.

A memorial service and celebration of Chris's life will be held at Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church, 101 Fitch Avenue in Auburn NY, on Saturday July 19th at 11:00am.  Condolences may be made at www.brewfuneralhome.com
