E. Irene Adams

E. Irene Adams, 96, life long resident of Auburn, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at home. She was born on November 1, 1928 in Auburn, NY to the late Omer and Edith Ide Durfee. She worked as a secretary at the Auburn Correctional Facility, and for Remington in Auburn.  She was a member of the YMCA, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Danced with Kathy Ryan’s Dance Troupe for 17 years. 

In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her son William Gray, 3 brothers Raymond, Floyd and Omer Durfee and 2 sisters Thelma Totman and Beatrice Fjeldsted. 

She was also predeceased by her life partner of 50 years Donald Ryan.

At Irene’s request there will be no services. She will be buried at Fort Hill Cemetery next to her parents.
