Frederick W. Delaney, 79, of Scipio Center passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, May 4th, 2025. He was born on August 8, 1945 in Auburn New York to the late William and Mary Walsh Delaney.
Fred worked as a correctional officer for 32 years and served in the Army National Guard for 26 years. He enjoyed golf, traveling, watching SU basketball, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol (Gulliver) Delaney. Children, Marie (Kenneth Juhl), Doreen (Joe Melchior) Vanacore, Timothy (Mary) Delaney, Kenneth (Nicole) Delaney and Katy (Jay) Wilson. Grandchildren, Dalton and Amanda Juhl, Nicole (Charles) Melie, Joshua (Victoria), Ryan (Paige), Brandon (Kylie) Vanacore, Parker Melchior, Gregory, Jack and Megan Delaney, Frank (Madelyn) Walter, Darek Delaney, Aiden Wilson, Grace, Logan and Alivia Delaney. Great grandchildren, Charles Melie, Tucker, Bryce and Wayde Vanacore.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother William Delaney, sister Vera Rice, and grandson Dylan Juhl.
