Helen (Kathy) Kathleen Shepardson, 75, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a long battle with her health. She was born on July 10th, 1948 to the late Clarence and Anna (Kolp) Bogart. She grew up with her four brothers in Auburn, New York, the place that she called home for her entire life.
Kathy attended West High School in Auburn, and worked for several years at McQuay. For nearly 30 years she lived at her home on Grove Ave with her husband, Thomas Shepardson, and her two children, Chrissy and Elaine. Friends and neighbors on Grove Ave remember her for being a “mom of many” with the biggest heart and unforgettable personality. She loved watching sports and was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills, Auburn Doubledays, and WWE wrestling. From watching games to playing them - Kathy also loved playing card games such as Phase 10, Skip-Bo, and “Sticks” with her close friends and family. When she wasn’t playing cards or completing puzzles with her friends at the Boyle Center, she was spending quality time with her children and five grandchildren. To know her was to love her. She is most remembered for her infectious laugh, big smile, and her happy dances.
Kathy was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene and never waivered in her faith in God. She is predeceased by her parents Clarence and Anna Bogart, her husband Thomas Shepardson, and her brothers Clarence (Butch) Bogart (Judy), and Clinton Bogart (Barbara). She is survived by her brothers Francis Bogart (Brenda) and Kenneth Bogart (Sandra), her two children, Elaine Colangelo (Mark) and Christine Shepardson (Jeff Blaisdell), and her five grandchildren; Rehgan Pierce (Tyler), Kadyn Blaisdell, Carmella Colangelo, Gia Colangelo, and Luciano Colangelo.
Calling hours will be held from 12-2pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Church of the Nazarene, 3360 E Genesee St, Auburn, NY 13021 with a celebration of life and burial at Soule Cemetery to follow.
