On June 17th 2024 at the age of 61, our beloved Joan C, Haymon ended her challenging battle with brain cancer. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in her home, which she helped build over 25 years ago along with the help of habitat for humanity, family, and friends.
Joan was a compassionate and kind hearted person, who loved people and pets. She was always solving puzzles or reading books. She made her family a priority and spent most of her time caring for her loved ones, including her son Lenny, who was bedridden after being hit by a drunk driver at the age of 14. Before his passing she assisted in his survival for over 20 years. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending school events, playing games outside and around the house or just laughing together.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter: Nicholas Fresco; Amanda (Daniel) Morris; 7 grandchildren; three brothers, Donald, Melvin, and Jeffrey Myers; three sisters, Paula Smith, Crystal Brown, and Dorothy Vertucci; as well as many other relatives, and close friends. Preceding her in death were, her son Leonard Haymon Jr.; brother, Kenneth Freece and her mother/father Dorothy & Melvin Myers.
