Patricia “Pat” (Berry) Bianconi Obituary

Patricia “Pat” (Berry) Bianconi passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on May 21, 2026 with her family by her side. Born on September 8, 1938 to Francis and Evelyn (Coulson) Berry in Scipio Center, New York, Pat has long been cherished by her family and community. The older sister to Marilyn (Chamberlain), Louie and Junie (Francis, Jr.), Pat assumed the role of caretaker and leader at an early age. She graduated from the Sherwood Central High School in 1956, and in recent years has enjoyed many monthly lunches with her fellow classmates. After receiving her degree from Auburn Community College, Pat worked at the bank in Moravia and waited tables at the Aurora Inn, where she met Lou Bianconi of Aurora.  They were married in May of 1962.

Moving to the Village of Aurora as a newlywed, Pat and Lou raised a beautiful family with Tom (Jinny) of Aurora, followed by Steve (Cheryl) of Ballston Lake, New York, Mary Beth of Clifton Park, New York, and Matt (Alexis) also of Aurora. Pat’s grandchildren Alaina, Ryan, Kurtis, Marie, Collin, Brent, Jake and Alex and great grandchildren Daisie and Kaitlyn are her greatest treasures. Pat shared her love in many ways. From summer picnics at the lake to holiday dinners in the house, her homemade meals from family recipes and endless supply of cookies, jellies and jams were a never-ending delight to her family. Pat enjoyed gardening, reading, eating ice cream while watching the Yankees, and spoiling all the family dogs.

In addition to being the foundation of her family for over 20 years since her husband’s passing, Pat previously worked as an administrative support professional at Southern Cayuga Central Schools and was later an active volunteer in Aurora. She contributed her time and talents to the Aurora Historical Society and Aurora Free Library, and was a long-time Village Planning Board Member, acting as the Chairperson for many years before stepping down in the spring of 2025. A convert to Catholicism at the time of her marriage, Pat was a devoted congregant of St. Patrick’s Church in Aurora, serving on the finance committee and organizing many events and activities at St. Pat’s over the years. Her leadership, professionalism, wit and wisdom are the hallmarks of her many years of service and commitment to the Aurora community.

Visitation is at St. Patrick’s in Aurora on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s in Aurora at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with a Rite of Committal immediately following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Aurora.

In honor of Pat’s commitment to her faith community, her Village, and the welfare of all children, in lieu of flowers, her wishes are for donations to be directed to St. Patrick’s Church in Aurora, the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department or in support of local children’s charities including https://www.playspaceabc.com, https://cayugacenters.org, or https://btwcc.org.
