Peter "Pete" J. Hurd

Peter “Pete” J. Hurd, 41, of Aurora, passed away from his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1984 in Auburn, NY. Pete was a beloved son, brother and devoted husband, and a true outdoorsman whose laughter and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.  He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and mischievous ways which would keep everyone on their toes.  His love for the outdoors was matched only by his talent as a handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Pete was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Harry and Ruth Drennen Barber and his paternal grandparents Maynard and Charlotte Hurd.

There will be a memorial service at 11AM on Saturday April 18, 2026 at Calvary Chapel, 2090 Crane Brook Drive, Auburn and there will be a celebration of life at a later date in the summer time.
