Reverend James V. Hedger Obituary

 

Rev. James “Jim” V. Hedger, 96, of Auburn went home to be his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on June 17, 2018. He was the son of the late Alfred and Lydia Hedger. Jim grew up in Eastport, Long Island and attended Nyack College in Nyack, New York.  Jim was an ordained minister with the Christian & Missionary Alliance for 35 plus years; all in the Northeastern District. Following "retirement," he also pastored an independent church in Center Moriches, Long Island. 

Jim and his wife, Ginny (who passed away in September) were married on August 26, 1947 and celebrated their 71st anniversary last year.  They had two children – son Tim (Cheryl) Hedger of Canandaigua, New York and daughter Sue (John) Richwine of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jim was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his son, daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Auburn Alliance Church, 630 N. Seward Avenue, Auburn 13021. The family requests no flowers. Please make memorials (checks can be made out to Auburn Alliance Church, address above) to a help send a young missionary to the field for the first time. Brew Funeral Home, Auburn is in charge of the arrangements.
