Ricky “Tricky Rick” passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Richard lived in Auburn his entire life, born to the late Charles Flowers and Virginia L Flowers. Richard was one of ten children. Richard loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Ricky was an active member of Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church. He would often visit Elder Murray’s church as well. Ricky went to Auburn High School and obtained his GED from BOCES and worked several jobs throughout his life. He retired from Vitale Concrete in Auburn NY. He was well known in Auburn and loved by the entire community. Ricky left all he came in contact with in good spirits after he left them. He will be missed as one of the legends of Auburn. We will miss his endless jokes, upbeat personality, and unmatched hustle. Ricky was known for his kind gestures and always offered a helping hand to all those who were in need. Ricky’s favorite hobby was to meet with friends at OTB.
Ricky leaves behind seven siblings, Charles Williams (Rochester), Bernice Brown (Auburn), Robert Brown (Auburn), Audrey Flowers (Liverpool), Yvette Flowers (Auburn), Sandra Davis (Syracuse) and Mary Louis Watson (Auburn). Ricky also leaves behind two maternal aunts, Marlene McKinley (Rochester) and Arcola Barr (Auburn), and his best friend Lang Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Ricky was predeceased by his mother and father. His maternal grandparents, Ulysses and Willie V Brown. Paternal grandmother, Willie Lee Grey. His siblings, Beverly Borges, Dorothy Flowers, Michele Flowers, and Veronica Barr. His second mom, Cleo Schumper and three paternal aunts Lessie Alexander, Clara Flowers, and Jessie Flowers Ragion (Sister).
There will be a graveside committal service at 11AM, on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
