Roxanne R. "Rocky" Smith

Roxanne R. “Rocky” Smith , 69, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Rochester General Hospital.  Rocky, the sixth of seven children and loving daughter of Anthony “Buddy” and Blanche Savarese, entered this life on February 26, 1954 in Auburn, NY. Rocky and her family grew up in Cayuga County and she retired from Welch Allyn in 2009 and was also an employee of Carrols Corporation. She married Dennis “Denny” Smith on August 1, 1972 in Jordan, New York and lived in Auburn where they later had four wonderful children. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren which she was very proud of. Rocky will be missed by her loving husband Denny of Auburn, NY.

She was preceded in death by her father – Anthony Buddy Savarese, her mother Blanche Savarese, her brother, Jack Savarese, her half sister Nancy Gourd. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Marie Smith.

She is survived by her brother – Anthony Savarese, Jr. of Zephyrhills, Florida, Danny Savarese and wife Karen of Port Byron, a half sister –Terry Thurston and husband David of Montezuma, NY, and sister Jane Cutillo and husband Joe of Elbridge, NY.

She is also survived by her loving children – Dennis “DJ” Smith of Ashboro, NC, Denise Avery & husband Tom of Auburn, NY, Michael Smith and Emily of Lexington, NC, Steven Smith and wife Megan of New Smyrna Beach, FL and many loving grand children, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 at 6:00PM at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn with pastor Matthew Drake of United Pentecostal Church, Richlands, NC. An interment will be held later in the year with close friends and family.
