Roy Lee Wilson Jr.

Roy Lee Wilson, Jr. of Auburn, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, surrounded by his family, at Auburn Community Hospital. He was born January 21, 1952, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Roy Lee Wilson, Sr. and Mary F. Hall-Wilson. Roy was a very kind and compassionate person, always there for others. He enjoyed cruising the city in in his vehicles. He always kept them clean. When he wasn’t busy, one of his favorite pastimes was sitting on the porch, relaxing, chilling, and enjoying the beauty of the day. He was employed for a number of years, at the former Auburn Steel Plant, currently known as Nucor Steel. He spent numerous years working in the tree service business. He was a member of Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as an usher. He was faithful in assisting the trustees with outside Lawn care. Unless he was sick, he was at church every Sunday morning, to hear his younger brother, Pastor Robert E. Wilson, preach and teach the Word of God.

Roy was survived by, his significant other: Bobby Richardson, of Auburn, NY; Children: Charlena Richardson, of Auburn, NY; Tina Wilson-Sutton and her husband Bryan, of Syracuse, NY; Demetrian Wilson and his wife Barbara, of Baldwinsville, NY; Shalocka Wilson, of Auburn, NY; Tamu Tillman, of Buffalo, NY, Chianti N. McIntyre, of Syracuse, NY; Troy D. Wilson, of Auburn, NY; Roy Christopher Wilson and his wife Rhoda, of Auburn, NY; Jamell Wilson and fiancée, Colleen, of Sugar Land, TX, and Kareem Richardson, of Syracuse, NY. Siblings; Reverend Robert E. Wilson and his wife Verna, Venice Humphrey, of Auburn, NY; Terry Wilson and his wife Stephanie, Ronnie Wilson, Calvin Wilson and his wife Sherry, Vivian Wilson, all of Rochester, NY; Victoria Wilson, Raymond Wilson, and Ryan Wilson, all of Auburn, NY. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and aunt.

In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his daughter, Arlynda J. Wilson, and his brother Jerome Wilson. 

There will be a home going service at 11AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church, 101 Fitch Street, Auburn. Burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn. Condolences may be made at www.brewfuneralhome.com
