Ruth Lucille Tillman (Northrop)

Ruth Lucille Tillman (Northrop), of Holly Springs, North Carolina (formally of Auburn New York) passed away on June 29, 2018 in her home surrounded by loved ones.  Ruth was the daughter of the late Leon A. Northrop and Nina Mae Northrop (Burton).  She was a graduate of West High School and she retired from the Miller Bottling Company in Sennett NY.  In retirement, Ruth enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, and spending as much time as she could with her family.   

Ruth is survived by her children: Johnnie Lee Tillman III (Elizabeth) of Richmond VA, Rachael Tillman Simpson of Richmond VA, Renelle Tillman Brown (Lee) of Holly Springs NC.  In addition to her children, Ruth leaves her brother, Thomas Northrop (Donna) of Jefferson NC; loving in-laws, Katie McIntyre, Larry Tillman, Michael Tillman, Marvin Tillman (Teresa), Patrick Tillman, Donna Northrop Laurin, and Betty Tillman; and a host of precious grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.  Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie “Peter” Lee Tillman Jr. and three of her brothers: Leon Northrop, Clarence Northrop (Diane), and Roy Northrop.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn, NY 13021.  Her home going service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Harriett Tubman A.M.E. Zion Church, 90 Franklin Street, Auburn, NY 13021.

Burial to follow funeral service at Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
