Todd R. Fischer

Todd R. Fischer, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 11, 2025.

Todd grew up in Union Springs, NY and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school.  He served 26 years which included deployments to Desert Storm, the conflict in Somalia and a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan. He retired in 2003 at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. He moved back with his family to Union Springs in 2004. Todd worked as a Cayuga County Custody Deputy from 2005 to 2018. He then transitioned into the Cayuga County Court system as a Court Deputy from 2018 to the present.

Todd leaves behind his wife, Lorie, of 36 plus years and their 2 children, Corey and Sydney. He also has two children, Jessica Kearns and Sean Fischer, from a previous marriage, plus 7 grandchildren.

Todd is also survived by three siblings, Jeff Fischer, Greg Fischer and Heidi Oneil (Jerry). He was predeceased by his Father, R. John Fischer; Mother, Mona Schroeder; Stepfather, Alex Peace and brother Scott Peace.

A Celebration of Life will be at the American Legion Post 1107 in Union Springs on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 2pm. Todd was serving as the current Commander of the Legion Post.

Donation in Todd’s memory can be made to the Post 1107 American Legion or the Union Springs Food Pantry.

Todd’s interment will be at a later date.
