Tyron "T.C." Alexander Obituary

Tyron Alexander, 62, known to all as the unique and unforgettable "T.C.” (Top Cat or Too Cool), passed away on October 21, 2024. He had been a resident of Auburn, NY, since 1973. His journey began in Fort Valley, Georgia, in a neighborhood known as 'Vineville,' on November 15, 1961, born to Glover Gibson Sr. and the late Lessie Alexander.

In his younger adult life, T.C. was well-known in the community for his intelligence, athletics, and impeccable style in three-piece suits. He was recruited into the U.S. military and received an honorable discharge. Additionally, he pursued his education by enrolling in Auburn Community College (currently known as Cayuga Community College) and Fort Valley State College.

T.C.'s love for rapping, humor, and music was a defining part of his character, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was often seen with his guitar, ready to share his love for music. His passion for cooking and visiting people in his neighborhood was equally strong. T.C. was a fan of the Buffalo Bills team and had a deep admiration for Syracuse University. He even named his dog 'She Rock,' a testament to his compassionate nature and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

He is survived by his sons Phillip Burke of New York and Stevey (Vanessa) Linxx, his 12 grandchildren, Analey, Jade, Sanaa, Sakari, Siyanii, Saamiya, Saamir, Saalim, Saabrii, Seviina, Sapriim, SaaGodess and one great-grandchild Aluna, all of New Jersey; his siblings Cynthia (Howard) Richardson of Warner Robins, GA, Gerald (Shirley) Alexander of Rochester, NY, Tangelyn (Johnny) Raines of Roberta, GA, Jacquelyn Fountain of Warner Robins, GA, Audrey (Hubert) Hanks of Liverpool, NY and Valerie Davis of Auburn NY; and his uncles Frederick and Willie Gibson and aunt Virginia Foster from Fort Valley, GA. He also had a special bond with his cousins Bob and Sis Flowers, who were like his aunt and uncle, and stepfather Thomas (Mary) Watson, all from Auburn, NY. He cherished a host of nieces and nephews and had a strong relationship with them, often greeting them with his trademark, "Hey, jitterbug."

He was predeceased by his mother, Lessie Alexander, grandmother, Willie Lee Gray, sister, Phyllis Jones, and brother, Glover Gibson Jr.

There will be a graveside service at 11AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
