Walter J. Janes

Walter J. Janes, 85, of Weedsport, passed away, on October 24, 2018. He was the son of the late Walter and Lillie Mae DeVoe Janes. Walter worked from April 1952 until 1989 for the New York Central Rail Road. Walter was a devoted husband and father. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was able to share that passion with his grandsons Dan and Alex. As a lifetime resident of the area, Walter was a longtime participant in the Weedsport parades and a member of the Throop Church of God.

He is survived by;

In addition to his parents Mr. Janes was also predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Frances Louise Janes, brothers Arthur Janes and Albert Janes, sister Helen Janes Scott and half sister Marion Aldrich.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-5:00pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 south Street, Auburn. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:00am.  Burial will be at Weedsport Rural Cemetery, Weedsport NY.
