Arthur M. (Doc) Underwood

Arthur M. (Doc) Underwood, 92 of King Ferry, NY passed away on April 28, 2017. Arthur was born in Genoa, New York to Bessie and Melville Underwood.  He graduated from Genoa Central School and continued on to receive a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1951.  He was a practicing Veterinarian for 65 years before retiring in 2016.

Arthur was married to Phyllis L. Simmons in 1984. He was previously married to Marjorie A. Donaldson in 1951 who passed away in 1979.

Arthur is survived by his wife Phyllis, a sister, Marilyn Basl (Albert), his children, Terrence Underwood (Judy Thompson); David Underwood (Marianne); Linda Potter (Rodney); Scott Underwood (Michele); Richard Underwood (Michelle Albright), 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Elwyn.

Visitation will be held from 2PM to 5PM Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, Auburn. Shakelton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A funeral service will be at 11AM on Monday May 1, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of King Ferry, 8821 Route 90, King Ferry, NY with Reverend Dan MacAllister officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of King Ferry, P.O. Box 250, King Ferry, NY 13081 in memory of Arthur M. (Doc) Underwood.
