Edward T. Tanner

Edward T. Tanner. 75, lifelong resident of Union Springs passed away on May 13, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Edward was born in Auburn, NY on May 6, 1942 to the late William and Margaret Connell Tanner. Ed was a graduate of Union Springs Central High School. Edward worked for the village of Union Springs as the Superintendent of Water and Sewer. His real passion was working in his garage. As an avid woodworker, Ed spent countless hours building furniture and refurbishing antiques never too far from his family.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Linda Spinney Tanner, sisters, Ann Morrison, Cathy (Ted) Hope, Claire (Andy) Lehtonen, brother, Michael (Sally) Tanner, children, Todd (Kathy), Brian (Alanna), Thomas (Tracy Clark), Christopher (Christine), Laurie (Terry Pickard), Jon, Jeffrey (Tammy White) and James (Libby Kuney), several grandchildren, Shaun, Kalen, Joseph, Joshua, Courtney, Zachary, Michaela and Joseph and one great grandson Alijah, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Nancy and brother Allen “Joey” Tanner.

A memorial mass with be held at 12PM on Saturday May 20, 2017 at St. Michaels Church, Route 90, Union Springs, NY.
